Chinatown by day, Neil Road after dark
Explore Smith Street’s shops and cultural spaces, then eat at Chinatown Complex or Maxwell Food Centre. For an LGBTQ+ nightlife stop, Tantric describes itself as a bar on Neil Road. Check the venue directly before making plans; this is a neighbourhood suggestion, not a certification of any venue.
Pink Dot’s gatherings at Hong Lim Park have featured community stories and groups. Recent editions have taken place in June, but programmes and schedules vary by edition; consult Pink Dot for its current programme. LGBTQ+ life also extends beyond events: Oogachaga describes counselling, support and community-engagement services. Visitors should check participation rules rather than assume a public gathering is open to everyone.

Questions about Singapore / Central Area
Can an overseas visitor join Pink Dot inside the event area?
Do not assume so. Pink Dot’s published FAQ restricts entry to its barricaded event space to Singapore citizens and permanent residents. Check the organiser’s current rules before planning around any edition.
Sources: Pink Dot SG: FAQsWhat is the legal context for same-sex relationships?
Singapore repealed Section 377A, which criminalised male same-sex relations, with effect from January 1, 2023. The Ministry of Home Affairs also says the constitution protects the current definition of marriage as between a man and a woman. The repeal should not be read as recognition of same-sex marriage.
A city score builds on its country’s context and adds local signals such as LGBTQ+ visibility, venues, events and tourism. A higher city score does not remove national restrictions.
