Thailand LGBTQ+ Travel Guide & GLD Country Score
Thailand has a published GLD Country Score of 78/100, in the High range.
Thailand combines major LGBTQ+ visibility in Bangkok, Pattaya and selected islands with recent legal progress and a globally recognised tourism economy. Public familiarity with gender and sexual diversity does not mean every workplace, family or province offers the same experience.
Bangkok, northern cities, Gulf islands and Andaman destinations have distinct rain patterns and transport connections. Domestic flights, ferries and road transfers should be planned as separate parts of the itinerary.
Gaylidays currently connects 15 scored cities to the national picture. Bangkok, Pattaya / Jomtien, Phuket / Patong are the three highest-scoring cities currently covered. Recorded city scores range from 71/100 in Sukhothai to 81/100 in Bangkok, a 10-point spread that shows why local context still matters.

Commercial visibility and social equality are not identical
Bangkok has the deepest community and cultural infrastructure, while Pattaya and resort islands offer highly visible visitor-facing scenes. Representation in nightlife and tourism does not automatically describe broader social conditions or every venue.
The country score combines legal rights, social acceptance, rule of law and travel comfort. City guides add the local perspective to this national foundation.
