Some Reykjavík evenings deserve a place on the dancefloor. At Kíkí, the night unfolds upstairs in the colourful timber house on the corner of Laugavegur and Klapparstígur. Drag, karaoke and club nights give this queer address several different personalities, so choose the evening that sounds most like you rather than leave everything to chance.
One house, two ways to begin
Kíkí has been part of the city’s nightlife since 2013, in a building whose story reaches back much further. Today, 22 Bar occupies the ground floor while Kíkí brings the party upstairs. We’d start with a drink downstairs if there is time, then follow the programme to the club. Keep the two venues in mind when checking times: sharing a roof does not mean sharing a schedule.
